Sunshine School is a centre supporting the needs of children with autistic spectrum disorder. The school offers a safe learning environment for children and provides diagnosis, early intervention and counselling to support them into entering mainstream education.

Urmi Foundation aims to support those with developmental disabilities. It runs different programmes at the community level as well as with the BMC special schools to uplift the social and educational standards of special children and youth. The Foundation’s mission is to integrate individuals with developmental disabilities into the mainstream society through adequate resources and policy support.
Founded in 2006, Anandi is a non-profit school which aims to provide an inclusive learning environment to children with developmental, learning and multiple disabilities. Prakash More (Founder and Trustee) embarked on this journey with 4 students and Anandi is now a family of 42 students with 7 teachers and 2 therapists/ educators. Anandi follows a differentiated approach focusing on personal attention as well as equal rather than special treatment to bridge gaps and act as a force multiplier towards inclusive and equitable existence for every child with developmental disabilities.
Anandi joined Atma’s Accelerator Programme in 2016. The Anandi team is looking to build an inclusive environment for children with special needs, and are looking to do this in more pockets of Mumbai city.
The Maharashtra Dyslexia Association (MDA) aims to develop awareness and acceptance of dyslexia in children affected as well as the communities they live in. MDA provides appropriate remedial assistance, thus working towards the acceptance of the special needs of children with learning disability and enabling them to reach their full potential.

Sai Sweekar is a special education organisation that caters to young learners with special needs. They assist children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), autism, cerebral palsy, vision disabilities and various developmental disabilities. They also work with children who particularly struggle to learn in the
Sai Sweekar’s Mission: “We aim to enrich the lives of these children with our tailored, innovative and holistic education, along with remediation and vocational programs that stimulates personal growth to help them live with dignity in the society.”

Gharkul is a voluntary organisation and school for children with special needs. Located in Santacruz, Mumbai Gharkul reaches out to the underprivileged children with special needs for whom no free education means no education at all. Gharkul’s aim is to provide a nurturing, supportive environment to enable these children with special needs to learn relevant life skills, become confident and self-reliant.
Gharkul joined Atma’s Accelerator Programme in 2015.
